The Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Malam Muhammad Garba has doled out cash incentive to 200 women in Kano Municipal Local Government Area to boost their businesses.

Garba, who spoke at the empowerment event on Tuesday, said the money was meant to enable the women undertake small-scale ventures.

He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the financial back-up, by either improving their existing trades or start up new businesses, to make them self reliant.

He also noted that the financial assistance was designed to support those in need, in order to take care of their wellbeing and for the benefits of their families.

Our Correspondent reports that the event was part of the commissioner’s political consultations with stakeholders to promote the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate, Dr. Nasiru Gawuna and other aspirants in APC fold.

Garba, who is also the spokesperson of the Gawuna/Garo Campaign Council, is currently holding engagements with youth and women groups to strategise to ensure victory for APC during 2023 general elections.
