Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway Autocrash claims 4,injures 9

The crash that occurred at the early hours of Thursday at OBADA OKO on Abeokuta-Lagos expressway led to the death of four persons while ten others sustained injuries.

Superintendent Route Commander Florence Okpe, who is the FRSC Public Education Officer for Sector Commander, disclosed this in a statement she signed and a copy made available to The Reporters in on Thursday.

According to her,14 persons were involved in the accident comprising of 9 male adults and 5 female adults, adding that 9 persons sustained injuries,made up of 04 male adults and 05 female adults.

She further explained:”A total of 4 persons were recorded dead, all male adult,2 vehicles were involved with one of them having registration number KRD831YD a Mazda Bus while the Truck is not unregistered.

“The suspected cause of the crash was Route violation (driving against traffic) on the part of the truck and unfortunately,the driver refused to stop.

“The injured were taken to Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, State General Hospital, Ijaye Abeokuta and Aries Medicare Hospital, Obada town for medical attention.

“The corpses have been taken by the family members.

“The Sector Commander, FRSC Ogun Sector Command, CC AHMED UMAR, Commiserated with the family of the victims and advised motorists to always obey traffic laws by not driving against traffic.

“He reiterated on the role of Passengers in cautioning the drivers and also use the Toll free number 122 to report any reckless driving.”
