Kogi Speaker Remembers late Wife with Thanksgiving, Empowerment Programme for widows

The Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly,Prince Mathew Kolawole, will on Sunday organise Thanksgiving service for his late wife,Pastor Esther Zainab Kolawole, who died a year ago, followed by empowerment programme for widows in Kabba,Kabba/Bunu Local Governnent Area of the state.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Femi Olugbemi, who revealed this in a statement he made available to journalists in Lokoja said the Thanksgiving service would begin at Christ Apostolic Church, Aiyeteju Quarters, Kabba by 10a.m.on Sunday.

He said the Speaker would also host his late wife’s usual pet projects she held dear to her heart while alive-the Widows Empowerment Programme- at Olonijola Event Center, Kabba on Monday, adding that materials and cash worth, millions of naira would be distributed to over 500 widows drawn from the 30 political wards in the area.

Olugbemi further disclosed that different communities within the Federal Constituency and many dignitaries from all walks of life would join the family to celebrate the memorial service and widows empowerment programme.

The speaker is the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) for Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency in the forthcoming general elections, scheduled for February 25, 2023.
