NSCDC Sensitize Secondary Students On Rape, Sex education

Appeal has gone to the school age children in Kwara State to shun all forms of immoral acts that can put their promising future in jeopardy.

The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Kwara state command, Muhammed Ibrahim Tukur, gave the advice on Friday during a one day sensitisation programme on rape, sex education and juvenile delinquency organized for primary and secondary pupils at Gwanara, Baruten Local Governnent Area of the State.

Represented by the Divisional Officer of the NSCDC, Gwanara Division, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, the Commandant also enjoined pupils to shun all smoking and keeping bad company.

According to Tukur, the pupils must use social media to their academic advantages and not to allow it to have bad influence on them.

The guest speaker,Mrs Halimat Mohammed, advised the female pupils to shun any act or indecent dressing that would make them target of rapists while male pupils must avoid rape and other immoral acts called juvenile delinquencies.

Our Correspondent reports that students, especially the females, were taught on various ways self defence to safe from being raped and other immoral acts.

The sensitisation programme was attended by pupils from both primary and secondary students in Gwanara Emirate.
