The death of the first son of David Adeleke, aka Davido, a Nigerian singer of national and International repute on Monday in Lagos has been described as a big lesson to parents to ensure that they provide good house keepers that would take adequate care of their children,especially when not at home.

An Abuja-based broadcast Journalist, Oche Otene, gave the advice while commenting on the death of the three-year-old Ifeanyi Adeleke, the fruit of Davido, the award-winning and global music icon and his fiancee,Chioma Rowland in a telephone interview with The Reporters.

“The death of Ifeanyi,no doubt,is a very sad one. My heart goes out to Davido and Chioma in this challenging moment of their lives.

“I urge them to take hear,” he said.

According to media report, the young lad, who just celebrated his third birthday recently,was said to have got drowned in a swimming pool on Monday night..
He was said to have drowned in the family pool and was under water for a while before he was discovered and rushed to the hospital,where he was pronounced dead in an hospital in Ikoyi,upon arrival.

Meanwhile, many entertainment enthusiasts in Lokoja, Kogi State and Abuja on Tuesday, also expressed shock over the death of master Ifeanyi Adeleke.

The Reporters reports that Ifeanyi was the product of relationship between Davido and Chioma Rowland, his fiancee.

Some youths with inclination towards Davido’s music genre, described the death of Ifeanyi as a deep shock but called on the musician and his fiancee to take heart.

“God gives and takes life at His will. “Though we, the lovers of Davido’s music and all he stands for in music industry beyond the shores of Nigeria are with him in this trying moment of his life,”Miss Angela Alabi said in an interview with The Reporters.

Abdulkareem Mohammed, Charles Salau, Richard Dada and Solomon Adagiri,all students of the Federal University of Lokoja,FUL, also expressed disbelief over the tragic event but prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest and his parents, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Commenting on the development, the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO for the Police Command in Lagos State,  Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that Ifeanyi got drowned, adding that in the process, he died on Monday.

He, however, said the domestic staff of the grief-stricken music icon had been invited by the command for questioning over the issue.

The tragic death of Ifeanyi has been attracting global reaction as many entertainers outside Nigeria,in their social media handles, have continued to sympathise with Davido and Chioma in their moment of grief.

For instance,British rapper and singer, Stephanie Allen, also known by her stage name as Stefflon Don, prayed for the singer. “Prayers for Davido and Chioma,” she tweeted among other stakeholders in global entertainment industry.
