APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Tinubu expected in Kogi,Nov 5

The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress,APC,Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be the Chairman of the 2022 edition of the annual Kabba Day celebrations scheduled to hold on November 5,2022 in Kabba township stadium, kogi state.

Engr.Femi Olubiyo, the chairman, Central Planning Committee of the forthcoming event disclosed this in a statement he released to Journalists in Lokoja on Thursday.

He added that the Governor of the state Alhaji Yahaha Bello, would be Special Guest of Honour, former Governor Ibrahim Idris, the Guest of Honour and John Cardinal Onaiyekan, Catholic Archbishop of Abuja Emeritus,father of the day.

According to him,His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Solomon Dele Owoniyi, the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council would be the Royal Father of the day while Hon. Leke Abejide, member representing Yagba Federal Constituency at the National Assembly would be the Chief Launcher.

Engr Olubiyo said that the Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Lokoja, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, would be the Guest Speaker,the Provost, Kogi State College of Education Technical, Kabba, Mrs Jagboro Olushola Victoria, Mother of the day while the Executive Chairman, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Hon. Moses Olorunleke would the Chief Host.

“The 2022 edition of the annual Kabba Day celebrations is expected to be an epoch-making event as the Central Planning Committee is prepared to host very important dignitaries from all walks of life to grace the occasion in Kabba township stadium, Kogi state, North Central Nigeria,”he added.

He said that all arrangements were on top gear to make the event a memorable one, adding that all sub committees were working round the clock to make the occasion a success.

Engr. Olubiyo,who said that this year’s Theme is; “Unity as an essential ingredient in actualizing great potential of Kabba community”, stressed that issues of security as a vital force in realizing the agricultural potential of the area would be given prominence.

According to him, the event will afford the people of (Owe) Kabba an opportunity to come together to celebrate their rich culture and traditions with guests expected across the globe to grace the occasion.

He noted that the event would also be used to raise fund for community development projects that would enhance the living standard of the people, pointing out that “the committee targets N500 million, minimum,to be raised at the occasion.”

He said the President – General of the Kabba Development Union, Engr. Emmanuel Ajibero, would be the host, while member representing Kogi West Senatorial Districts in the Senate,Sen. Smart Adeyemi (CON), Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Prince) Matthew Kolawole, member representing Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Ayo Yusuf would be co-hosts.

The Chairman urged all Kabba sons and daughters to rally round the committee to make the event a huge success, expressing optimism that the event promises to be educative, entertaining and above all, “it will be a celebration of the rich culture and traditions of the people of the ancient city of (Owe) Kabba.”
