Father of gas explosion victim cries for financial assistance for medical bill

Alhaji Abubakar Umar, the father of a 28-year-old house wife, Amina Musa,the lady who is involved in the recent gas explosion in Lokoja, has appealed to the Governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaha Bello and other public spirited individuals in the country to come to his financial aid to raise N 2.5 million as hospital bill for his daughter.

Umar, a farmer, made the appeal in an interview with the Correspondent of The Reporters in Lokoja on Thursday.

The farmer, who disclosed that Amina is at Sifau a private hospital in Lokoja with three others said he needed N 2.5 million for the medical bill to treat his daughter.

“My daughter suffers serious burns as a result of gas explosion at Adankolo few days ago. She is going through pain that I don’t wish my enemy.

” I have been spending N10,000 everyday as medical bill on her and all my savings as a farmer has been spent on this matter.

“My daughter is a house wife with three children and the husband is just a driver with little or no finance to foot the medical bill.

“I am making a passionate appeal to our amiable and compassionate Governor, Alhaji Yahaha Adoza Bello, members of his cabinet and other Nigerians to please help me raise the money required for my daughter to regain her health.

“No amount is too small or too big to help my family in this trying moment.”

According to Umar,Amina who is affected by the flood in Lokoja and was allocated a temporary accommodation by a friend of the family in Adankolo, was trying to cook for her children when the tragedy happened.

He added that Amina was trying light charcoal but unknown to her there was a leaking gas near by and in the process,the gas was exploded, leaving 90 per cent of her body burnt.

Umar further disclosed that three other victims,who also sustained injury in the explosion had been treated and discharged.
