Governor Yahaha Bello of kogi state has so far appointed at least,10 Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in the state,as Special Assistants on disability matters, according to the state Chairman of PWDs, Arome Ibrahim.
Ibrahim, who disclosed this to The Reporters in a statement in Lokoja on Friday, further revealed that the state government added three members of PwDs to the already existing seven on Friday.
The statement entitled ” BELLO AND THE DISABILITY COMMUNITY IN KOGI STATE”.Arome said:”Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has again appointed 3 persons with disabilities as Special Assistants (SS) on disability matters.
“The appointees were accompanied by the Chairman, Kogi State Office for Disability Affairs, Hon. Arome Ibrahim, for the collection of their appointment letters at the office of the Secretary to the State government (SSG) on September 30, 2022.
“The appointees are:
1. Hon. Husseini Kabiru Omele (Deaf)
2. Hon. Umar Zakariyau Shuaibu (Blind)
3. Hon.Abdulganiyu Rufai (physically Challenge).”
The Chairman,who thanked the Governor for his continuous love for the members of the disability Community in the state, noted that the disability community in the state had drastically changed for better since he assumed office as the leader of PWDs.
“Today, more than 10 persons with disabilities are part of the New Direction government under the leadership of Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
“On behalf of the entire persons with disabilities, I thank the Executive Governor of Kogi State for his usual love,” he added.
Ibrahim urged the members of PWDs in the state to see All Progressives Congress (APC) as the “liberating party” to throw their total support.
He, therefore, urged them,their families and friends to support TINUBU/SHETIMA political ambition, come 2023 general elections.
According to him,the appointees, in their joyful message, appreciated the Governor for his gesture and promised to demonstrate ability in their disabilities.
Hon. Husseini Kabiru Omele (Deaf),who spoke on behalf of other appointees, expressed optimism that the appointment would energise them to work more closely with their Chairman for the victory APC, come 2023.
