The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has unveiled its campaign structure in readiness for the 2023 general elections.

The State Publicity Secretary of the party, Bemgba Iortyom, said on Tuesday in Makurdi that the organizational structure was unveiled at a meeting jointly chaired by Governor Samuel Ortom and the State PDP acting chairman, Isaac Mffo, as received from the party’s national secretariat.

He said that the meeting also nominated persons to fill positions on the State Campaign Council and State Campaign Management Committee, with efforts still ongoing to compose membership of the other structures.

Governor Ortom, according to him, will head the State Campaign Council and will be deputised by the party governorship candidate, Engr. Titus Uba while Dr. Tyokyaa Cletus and Hon. Ediga Akpa emerged Director and Secretary respectively of the State Campaign Management Committee.

Others include Barrister Mue Clement to serve as Legal Adviser, Moses Audu in charge of Field Operations, Major General (Rtd.) Gabriel Edeh Ode heads Security Matters while himself, Bemgba Iortyom has been nominated as spokesman of the campaign among others.

Ortom, however, in a keynote address to the stakeholders at the meeting, stressed the need for members to foster unity and focus on the task to rescue Nigeria from misrule of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the federal level as well as consolidation of victory in the state at the coming polls.

Responding, the stakeholders, through various speakers, expressed resolve to remain united and focused, even as they declared readiness of the party at the various levels in the state to diligently canvass support of the electorates towards winning at the polls.
