2023:Shun political apathy,vote for good governance, Okino urges electorate

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Kogi State,Mr Aloysius Okino, has called on electorate in the state to shun political apathy and come enmasse to vote leaders they trust would change the current narrative in Nigeria for the better, come 2023.

He made the call on Saturday during his sensitisation visit to Gadumo Primary School Polling Unit in Ajaokuta Local Governnent Area of the state.

The Reporters reports that Okino and his entourage were at the polling unit to harp on the need for the electorate to take the forth coming general elections as a serious exercise.

“Don’t be afraid,come out with your voter’s card and cast your vote, we will defence your vote and make sure it counts,” he problem the electorate.

The House of Representatives candidate congratulated the electorate for the creation of the unit and urged them to use the opportunity to exercise their ineliable civic right and responsibility for good governance,come 2023.

Okino, a former Chairman, Ajaokuta Local Governnent Area, described all the party’s candidates in next year elections as serious minded politicians, determined to bring dividends of democracy to the people, in pratical terms,if elected.

Okino expressed confidence in the ability of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar,PDP Presidential candidate, whom he said would take Nigeria to the level of the desired realistic development, if elected.

Other candidates in the race,he said,are: Bar.Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for Kogi Central Senatorial district and Haruna Ganaja for the State House of Assembly electíon.

On security situation in Ajaokuta Local Governnent Area, Okino described the development as terrifying but called on the people to engage in ceaseless prayer for God’s mercy and protection.

Responding, the Chairman, Gadumo Primary School Polling Unit,Mr Alex Yusuf, appreciated Okino and his entourage for the visit and wished them success in the course of their political ambition.

Our Correspondent reports that elders, women and youths of the area attended the occasion.
