Kidnappers demand N10m ransom to release our 3 children– family source

The unidentified gunmen suspected to be kidnapped three Children in Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi State have reached out to the family of their victims, demanding N10 million ransom to set them free.

A family source,who preferred anonymity, disclosed this to Journalists in Ajaokuta recently.

The Reporters recalls that the Kidnappers stormed Kaduna Estate Ajaokuta Steel Township Complex on Wednesday, shooting at random and in the process, took their victims to unknown destination.

Our Correspondent reports that the incident is the latest after three policemen and five vigilantes were killed by unidentified gunmen in Jida Bassa under Ajaokuta Local Government of the state.

The source,who said that the gunmen made the contact on Thursday morning, stating their,gave the age of the kidnapped to be five, seven and ten respectively.

According to the source,the original intention of the Kidnappers was to abduct one Kadiri, who sells electronics as their target but when they could not achieve their aim they vent their venom on the innocent children.

Efforts by our Correspondent to get the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO for the Police Command in the state, reaction to the incident, proved abortive as he did not respond to the several calls put across to him.

He also did not reply to the text we sent to him in respect of the incident as at the time of this report at about 3.30 p.m on Friday.

Effort to speak with the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Kogi State, William Ovye Aya, proved abortive as at the time of filing this report on Thursday evening. He did not pick his calls or respond to text messages sent to his phone.

The Reporters recalls that the Governor of the state,Alhaji Yahaha Bello, recentl suspended the Ohi of Eganyi and Chairman, Ajaokuta Traditional Area Council, HRH Alhaji Musa Isah Achuja with immediate effect.

He also directed that the Chairman of Ajaokuta Local Government Area, Mustapha Aka’aba, be queried over the security breach, adding that he must reply within 24 hours.

The governor’s swift move,our Correspondent gathered,is due to the increased breaching of security in the local government area.
