VC urges knowledge on importance of artificial intelligence

The Vice Chancellor/Chief Executive and Academic Officer,
Summit University, Offa, Kwara State,Professor Abiodun Musa Aibinu,has urged Nigerians to take advantage of the forthcoming lecture by Osun State University, Osogbo to gain knowledge on artificial intelligence and its importance to nation building.

Aibinu, a Professor of artificial intelligence among other academic feats, gave the advice in a statement he made available to The Reporters, an online publication in Lokoja on Tuesday from Offa.

According to him, he has been selected to discuss on how to harness the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for nation building, using the Quadruple Helix (QH) approach at a lecture coming up soon in Osogbo,Osun state.

Our Correspondent gathered that the lecture, which comes on July 21, 2022 at the College of Science And Technology, organised by the Osun State University,Osogbo is entitled” Harnessing artificial intelligence in nation building: The role private partnership in higher education and research”.

Prof.Aibinu said, ” I will also be discussing how the QH framework will assist in fostering sustainable interaction in the provision of qualitative higher education and ground breaking research among the participating components, namely: the private sector (industry),Academia, Government and Society.”

The professor expressed optimism that, attending the event would “definitely expose” participants to available opportunities in the AI Upstream, Midstream and Downstream sectors.

The online publication further learned that the planned event is in honour of Prof.’Diran Famurewa, the Pioneer Provost, College of Science and Technology of the university.

The event, the organisers disclosed, would take place at Olagunsoye Oyinlola Auditorium of the institution as from 11.a.m.
