Unidentified gunmen kill 2 policemen in Benue

As the Police Command in Kogi State State unravels the the immediate and remote causes of the attack by hoodlums on its Area Command office in Okehi Local Governnent Area of the state and its inspector killed on Friday, its counterpart in neigbouring Benue State says unknown gunmen have also killed two of its personnel.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Command in Benue State,Sewuese Anene, disclosed this to Journalists in Makurdi on Friday.

The PPRO added that the police men were killed on the Makurdi-Lafia road, by yet to be identified gunmen.

“I received information that two policemen died in an operation on Makurdi-Lafia road, but I am yet to receive details,” Anene said.

Sources in Yelwata, Guma Local Government Area of the state, said the unknown gunmen killed the two policemen and went away with their guns.
