Education: FG releases 2022 NCCE results

The Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu has formally announced the release of this year’s National Common Entrance Examination (NCCE) into respective Federal Government Colleges within the Federation.

The Minister, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mr Adejo, at a ceremony in Abuja, emphasized that NCCE still remains the most imperative step into secondary schools, especially in Nigeria.

He also revealed that a total number of seventy one thousand, seven hundred and thirty eight (71,738) students registered for this year’s examination, among them 34,030 are male, while 37,708 are female .

He also hinted that Ajidagba Mariam from Sokoto state, whose centre was in Oshodi Junior secondary school, Lagos, emerged as the overall best candidate with a total score of 201.

Ranking second is Obot Abundance Idara, an indigene of Akwa Ibom state, with a total score of 200.

Also, Lagos state topped with the highest record registered candidates, with a sum total of 19,518.

However, the admission criteria as stated by the minister, was simply based on merit, equality of state and exigency.

He enjoined parents and guardians to visit NECO website: www.neco.gov.ng for details of the results of their wards.

Malam Adamu also reiterated that all admission processes are in line with the ministry’s tenets, and will be completed latest Friday 1st July, 2022.

Similarly, the registrar of National Examination Council, NECO, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, said that this year’s examination is an improvement upon 2021 results, with exceptional performance from the female students.
