Breaking: Unidentified gunmen kill retired military personnel,abduct 2 children, demand N50m ransom

The family of Umar-Kigbu in Lafia, capital of Nasatwa state, North Central Nigeria have thrown into anguish and mourning, following the killing of their prominent member, who was also a retired military personnel,Mr Zakari Umar-Kigbu, by unidentified killers.

The deceased was also an ex-Commissioner, National Population Commission (NPC).

The Reporters gathered that the suspected killers stormed the house of the deceased located at Azuba Bashayi, Lafia Local Government Area of the State and snuffed life out of him in the early hours of Sunday.

The online publication further gathered from family sources that the suspected killers did not end their heinous crime on their victim at that level as they also abducted his two daughters and demanded N50 million ransom before they would set them free.

A member of the family of the deceased, who confirmed the tragedy to newsmen on the condition of anonymity, said the deceased,60,was killed in the night of Sunday.

The Police Public Relations Officer,(PPRO) for the Police Command in the state, ASP Ramhan Nansel, who revealed that the police got a distress call at 12.20a.m on Sunday regarding the incident, added that the command had commenced investigation into the matter to know the circumstances connected with the incident.
