Hon. Idris Ozi Shaibu has won the House of Representatives primary election conducted for members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency of kogi state.
This is contained in a statement signed by Engr. M. Jamiu Habeeb, SA Media&Publicity, Adavi Local Governnent Area of the state, a copy of which was at the disposal of The Reporters,an online publication, in Lokoja on Saturday.
Habeeb said that in the primary election, conducted between two aspirants after Hon. Isa Wasiu willingly stepped down for Hon. Idris Ozi Shaibu before the commencement of the primary;a development he noted gave an edge to Hon. Idris Ozi, the winner pulled 105 votes out of the 110 accredited delegates from both Adavi/Okehi Local Governnentvernment Areas.
He added that the second aspirant, Hon. MohmohJimoh Sadiq, scored 5 votes.
According to the SA, Hon. Yahaya Karaku,the Returning Officer for the exercise, declared Hon. Idris Ozi Shaibu as returned and elected candidate for APC to contest for the forthcoming Adavi/Okehi Federal Constituency in the forthcoming House of Representatives election.
Habeeb further disclosed that the the primary election was conducted through indirect primary at Okehi Local Governnent Secretariat,with in all the accredited party delegates and aspirants in attendance, adding that it was supervised by two Chief Security Officers in charge of Adavi/Okehi local governments.
They are: Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami and Hon. Abdulraheem Ozovehe Ohiare who also doubles as the Chief host, Commissioner for Local Government/Chieftaincy Affairs, and Commissioner for Water Resources, the Security agencies, INEC officials, party stakeholders, and host of others, he revealed.
