The Senior Special Assistant to Niger State Governor on Students Affairs, zone A, Comrade Abdulkadir Lawal Abugi, has facilitated instructional materials aimed at boosting learning among secondary school students and enhancing educatuon sector in the state across public primary, secondary and tertiary institutions in the state.

Speaking at the occasion in Minna, the Governor’s aide said the gesture was part of his effort to assist the state government in providing qualitative educatuon to the students, adding that his reason was based on the fact that governnent alone could not provide adequate education to the citizens.

Abugi said: The level of education as can be seen today is not good. “Looking at what was there yesterday to what is obtainable today, the situation has totally changed.

” The essence of organising this programme is to see how we can bring people together and give back to the society.

” What I am aiming at achieving,at the end of the day, is to see how we can get back the lost glory of educatuon and how we can get our children off the streets and get them educated.

“Every one has the right to education and that is what we should be looking at.”

Unveiling the student relief programme on behalf of the Governor of the state, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Kesto, commended Abugi for the gesture, adding that Abugi’s excellent approach would go along way in helping to revamp educational system in the state.

” I want to commend Abdulkadir Abugi for this excellent approach in completing the efforts of my administration.

“His effort would help the students to pay more attention to their educatuon and give relief to the parents,” Bello said.

Our Correspondent reports that the instructional materials distributed include:50,000 exercise books,1,000 mosquito nets, first aid boxes among others.
