Light returns to Lokoja after 48 hours

Residents of Lokoja, Kogi State capital, who had experienced power outage for two days, consequen upon last Friday evening rainfall,sighed relief Sunday evening,following the return of electricity to the area.

The Correspondent of The Reporters, recalls that the state capital and its suburbs were thrown into darkness as a result of the rainfall that came with storm, leading to destruction of some electrical equipment.

The Area Manager,Abuja Electricity Distribution Company AEDC, Lokoja, Danladi Baba, disclosed this in a statement he issued in Lokoja on Friday in respect of the problem.

Our Correspondent,who monitored the situation from Ganaja/Gadumo areas of Lokoja reports that the electricity returned to these and other places at about 9 .p.m.

Meanwhile many residents of neighbouring Niger state are counting their losses as a result of the devastating rainfall on Friday evening in Minna, the state capital and other places, which destroyed over 200 houses among other value properties.
