Danladi Baba, the Area Manager, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company AEDC, has attributed the power outage that occurred in Lokoja and other areas in Kogi State to the Friday evening rainfall accompanied with heavy storm.
Baba,who disclosed this in a telephone interview with the Correspondent of The Reporters,an online publication in Lokoja on Saturday,said everything was being done to rectify the problem.
Our Correspondent reports that the development has brought lull in the social and economic life of the people of the affected areas in the state.
Earlier in a statement Baba made available to the energy customers,a copy of which is at the disposal of The Reporters, expressef regrett over the development.
Baba said:” Esteemed customers, we regret to announce poweroutage being experienced within Lokoja Area office due to the the rain that was associated with heavy storm and led to some major break down in our network as follows:
“1.Feeder 2 11kv where 5no. poles were broken and affected: Kporoka, New Market, Sarkin-Noma, Felele and down to Agbaja.
“2.Feeder 3 11kv where 2no. poles were broken and affected: Dunamis church area, Poly village First 200unit, Anibo quarters, commissioner quarters, Peace community, Second 200unit and 500unit.
“We are yet to ascertain what happened on feeder 1 33kv that radiates up to Koto karfe and Chikara and we are doing all we can to resolve all these within the limited period of time.
“Please accept our apology for all the inconveniences this might have caused.Thank you for your understanding.”
