The Acting Chairman, Mariga Local Governnent council of Niger state, Alhaji Abbas Adamu Garba, has enjoined Moslem faithful to use the coming Ramadan period to intensity prayers and taqwa for Allah to bring an end to security challenges the state and Nigeria generally.

Abbas Adamu, who is worried about the seeming endless security challenges bedevilling the state said that only through prayer by all religions and total submission that Alla would definitely have mercy on Nigerians and bring an end to insecurity facing the state.

The chairman in an interview with our Correspondent, lamented that the people of Mariga Local Government Area had lived together peacefully, respecting each others’ religion and the constituted authorities until the evil of Boko-Haram and other criminal elements began to rear their ugly heads.

Ever since the terror groups infiltrated into the area, the Acting Chairman said issues of trust for one another had disappeared, adding that people no longer believe even in themselves.

Adamu, however, commended efforts being made by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello to bring to an end siege by the armed bandits whose activities,he noted, had left so many homes and families with tales of pain and anguish.

“People no longer sleep with their two eyes closed due to armed bandit’s attacks day and night”, he said, expressing his preparedness to encourage aggressive socio-economic development of the affected communities, once peace returns to the area.

The chairman, who said he believed that Allah is able to end the agonies of the affected communities over the years, therefore called on Moslem faithful to adhere strictly to the teachings and acts of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SWA) for his intervention.

Our gathered that ramadan fast will commence on April 2.
