The National President,Federal College of Education,(FCE), Kontagora Alumni Association, Malam Adamu Kontagora,has comnended President Muhammad Buhari for upgrading of Federal College Educatuon (FCE) to Federal University of Education.
Kontagora, who made the commendation in a statement he issued in Kontagora on Thursday and a copy available to The Reporters, an online publication, said FCE Kontagora deserved the upgrading, being one of the best Colleges of Education in Nigeria.
On the issue of structure and infrastructure, the National President said so far under the leadership of the Present Provost Professor Faruk Rashid, the physical structures of the institution on ground covered an excellent status for it to meet up with the University requirements.
On the advantage of the upgrade, Kontagora said , there would be jobs creation due to the expansion of the scope, growth in students’ enrolment, full autonomy, enhanced professionalism by the lecturers, due to attraction of new courses among others.
He also expressed appreciation to some personalities, whom he worked together that ensured the realisation of the upgrading of the college to a university status.
