Spread the love

By Dada Ahmed in Lokoja

An Islamic scholar,Sheikh Rashidu Yusuf, has called on muslims in Nigeria and the world at large to show love to one another and unite, in whatever way possible, for the sake of Islam and development of humanity.

He made the call on Friday in his jumat sermon at Oando Mosque located on Murtala Mohammed road, Lokoja, Kogi State.

According to him, rather than seeing themselves as one and unite for the propagation of Islam, many muslims have jettisoned the principle of Islam which lay emphasy on love and unity in preference for formation sects for selfish ends.

“We have many muslims brothers and sisters, especially in Lokoja, that are jobless, what have you done as a fellow muslim who has position to help such people in dire need of your assistance.

” Almighty Allah will ask you on the day of judgement, what have you done to help such people in need of your assistance, ” he said.

He stressed that when there is unity and muslim were willing to assist fellow muslims, the society would witness the much needed peace and development.

According to the muslim scholar, many muslims preferred to seek l assistance from adherents of christianity, in various spheres of human endeavour because they know when they approach their muslims, they would not get such assistance due to lack of unity and love among muslims.

“If we are not united now, when are we going to be united, since we don’t know when we will die, why can’t we create harmony to enable us unite and assist one another.

“All of us are shepards in our own ways,we should be able to use our advantageous positions to help those that need our assistance, because we are going to be accountable to almighty Allah on such issue on the day of judgement,,”he reminded the muslims.

He prayed for the peace, unity and development of Nigeria and the world at large.
