By Correspondent in Lokoja.
The current heat emanating from scarcity of fuel in Lokoja and its environment, exerting telling effects on the social and economic life of the residents notwithstanding, nature smiled on them on Sunday evening with the first rain of 2022.
Our Correspondent reports that the rain, which came with gentility and appreciable volume, started at about 6.45 p.m and ended within 30 minutes.
One of the residents, Alhaji Ibrahim Obansa, a Journalist, in his face book account said,”First Rain in Lokoja. Very impressive. Allah is faithful and sufficient. Alhamdulila! Alhamdulila!!
Consequently, the rain eased the brunt of the heat in the morning of Monday while those who spoke to our Correspondent, expressed sigh and prayed for more rains and a quick end to the scarcity of fuel.
Our Correspondent reports that the scarcity, though showed element of ease as few fuel filling stations were seen selling the product amid long queue of vehicles, many of the stations remained shot to motorists as at the time of this report.
The ugly characteristics of the scarcity, such as black market syndrome, bribering petrol attendants in some filling stations before buying the product, hike cost of transportation as well as food stuffs persist.
