The Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria, ISPON, has concluded plans to hold a one day Inter Agency Stakeholders collaboration conference for Ministries, Departments and Agencies in Abuja.

The conference scheduled to take place on Thursday, 10th March, 2022, has as its theme : Inter Agency Synergy ; A veritable tool for effective safety management and regulation in Nigeria.

The President of Institute and the Chairman, organising committee, Kaizer Ebi, says,
“Section 2(b) of the act specifically mandated the Institute to collaborate with government agencies to set standards and to also review and update such standards from time to time”.

We observed that the MDA’s are not aware and we have not done enough in line with that section of the Act, hence the Institute is organising the programme to bring the MDA’s together for the purpose of satisfying that section and identify those nominated from the MDA’s to form various sector committees to draw Safety standards.

The Minister of State for the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Mr Festus Keyamo, SAN, has accepted to give the keynote address at the event.
