The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, Idrisu Dauda Dabban,has assured the good people of Kogi State of maximum security as Nigeria marked its 61st Independence Anniversary on Friday.
In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Police Command in the state, DSP William Aya on Thursday, the police commissioner stated that the Command, in synergy with all the Security agencies in the State, had adopted adequate security measures to protect the residents in the state and ensure a crime free anniversary and beyond.
“Consequently, the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Tactical and Operational Commanders have been mandated to ensure high visibility and confidence boosting patrols around the the major highways other places of public resort to prevent any infiltration by hostile elements,” the Police boss said.
Dabban, however, warned would-be trouble makers to desist from any act capable of disrupting the existing peace the State is enjoying.
He called on citizens to go about their lawful activities but report any suspicious movement or objects to the nearest security agency to enable prompt response.
He further enjoined the residents to continue to cooperate with the Police and other security agencies in fighting crimes and criminality in the State.
