The entertainment industry in Lokoja,the capital of the confluence kogi state,has continued to witness the influx of young talents industry with the latest sensation in town”Jagaban”.
In an interview with The Reporters entertainment correspondent in Lokoja, “Jagaban” whose real name is Ibrahim Jimoh,from Adavi Local Governnent Area of the state,said he started playing “Afro music” two years ago with 16 songs to his credit.
Some of these songs include “Money”, “Godly cover”, “Hustle” “Kpo-Kpo” and “Student matter”, among others.
“The basic concept behind my music is to educate youths,like me, on the need to eschew crime and criminality and imbibe the spirit of learning handwork with a view to be self-sustaining.
The 19-year-old song writer and producer said he had the burning desire to reach the peak of his career but lacked the required financial resources to realise his dream of becoming good ambassador of the state and Nigeria at large,far and wide.
He, therefore, called on well to do individuals and organisations in the state to assist him raise the sum of N500,000 to buy more and sophisticated musical instruments to boost his music.
“Jagaban”, who emerged first among the top 10 kogi artistes in Lokoja in 2021, assured his potential helpers that their gesture would not be in vain as that would translate into raising his status in entertainment industry as well as enhance the industry.
“There are many talented youths in the entertainment and other human callings in Kogi state but lack financial resources and in dire need of assistance to realise their dream.
“May I use this medium to appeal to the rich in the state that, when they plough back part of their riches to help youths realise their aim in life, they have done that in helping us to get out of life of hopelessness that lure some youths into crime and criminality.
“In this regard, they would have contributed in joining hand with the government to reduce youth related crimes in the society,” he said.
