Lokoja.

Kogi State House of Assembly on Wednesday confirmed the nomination of the appointment of Justice Richard Olorunfemi as the substantive Chief Judge of the State.

The chief judge’s confirmation was a result of his screening at the committee of the whole at the Assembly Complex Lokoja.

He was confirmed after the Chairman House Committee on Judiciary, Justice and Protocol, Cosmos Atabor, moved a motion, urging the Assembly that he should be allowed to take a bow and leave, having found him suitable for the assignment.

In the same vein, Justice Isiaka Momoh-Jimoh was screened and confirmed as the substantive President, Kogi State Customary Court of Appeal.

The House also confirmed the nomination of Mr. George Funsho Ojo as permanent member, Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission.

Ojo replaces the former Chairman of Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area, Mr. Emmanuel Funsho.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole, urged the appointees to see their elevation as a call to serve the State meritoriously, adding that they should justify the confidence reposed in them.
