Maj.Datong regains freedom

Security agencies have rescued Major Christopher Datong, abducted from the Nigerian Defence Academy(NDA), Kaduna about two weeks ago by bandits.

The Deputy Director, Nigerian Army Public Relations Office, First Division,Nigerian Army, Col.Ezindu Idimah, made the disclosure on Friday.

He further revealed that the abducted military officer was rescued through the effort of carefully planned operation by the military, DSS, Air force and other security agencies, adding that the development led to the discovery of bandits hideout and killing of scores of them.

Col.Idimah said the security agencies discovered bandits’ hideout along the Afaka- Birnin Gwari axis in Kaduna State and immediately swung into action during which they were able to subdue the bandits, particularly in the morning of Friday.
