Former Rector, Kogi Poly,for burial Sept. 25—Family

Kabba town, the headquarters of Kabba/Bunu Local Governnent Area of Kogi State, West Senatorial district of the state, will receive people from all walks of life on September 25,2021, as one its illustrious sons, Prof.Matthew Idowu Ajibero, who died recently will be committed to mother earth.

Ajibero, a one-time Reactor, Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja from 2006 to 2014 and special adviser on higher education to the Kogi state government,as well as being a professor of Library and Information Science,Bayero University, Kano, died on August 25, 2021 at the age of 71.

The family of the deceased, in a statement on Saturday in Kabba said the funeral activities would kick-start on September 21 and run through to 25 .

The Reporters gathered that the deceased also held other positions which include;the University librarian and pioneer head of the Department of Library Science at the University of Ilorin and a member of several professional bodies as well as being a recipient of numerous awards from academic, professional and community groups.

In terms of faith, the late professor was also a prominent personality in the Catholic Church, where he was the metropolitan grand knight, Ibadan metropolitan council, and chairman, forum of metropolitan grand knights.

The family added that commendation mass would be held in his honour on September 21 at the University of Ilorin (main campus), followed by a procession service in Kabba on September 22.

According to them, the Christian wake would on September 24 at his Kabba GRA residence, to be followed by funeral mass on September 25 at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church (SHJ), Kabba as well as reception at the Kabba Township Stadium.
