Abdulhamid Yakubu (57),who also a businessman, has told la Shari’a court sitting in Magajin Gari, Kaduna, that the one month old baby delivered by his ex- wife, Maryam Muhammad, was not his child.

He made the denial of the paternity of the baby on Monday, when he took his ex-wife before the court.

In his petition, Yakubu also told the court that he raised an alarm on the paternity prior to the delivery of the child but that his ex-wife insisted the child belonged to him.

“Even before I divorced her in March 2021, I told her older sister that the baby was not mine, because she moved out of our house without my permission,” he said.

In her defence, the ex-wife also told the court that she gave birth to ‘their son” in August 2021, sticking to her gun that the baby belonged to Yakubu.

Responding to the submission of the two parties, after listening to them, the judge, Malam Murtala Nasir ordered them to present their guardians in court on Sept.16.
