80 APC aspirants justle for 13 LGA chairmanship possitions in Nasarawa State

As the Nasarawa state Local Government election draws nearer, the A P C screening committee says it has so far screened 80 aspirants in the thirteen Local Governments areas of the State.

Our Correspondent reliably gathered that 81 aspirants from the All Progressives Congress (APC) alone purchased nomination forms out of which eighty of appeared for the screening.

The Chairman of the screening committee, Mr Philip Dada, told our political correspondent in an exclusive interview in Lafia, that Doma Local Government had 19 aspirants with a female aspirant, adding that out of the number,only 10 presented themselves for screening.

Dada, who is also the state Commissioner for Works, further disclosed that Keffi and Akwanga Local government areas has a total number of eight candidates eeach for chairmanship possition. adding that Nasarawa Eggon and Lafia Local Governments have seven aspirants each.

Other Local government areas according to the chairman of the screening committee included,Karu six aspirants and Keana and Awe have five aspirants each while Nasarawa Local Government and Wamba have four aspirants in that order.

He said out of the five aspirants from Toto Local Government, four showed up for screening while one person absented himself.

Mr Dada further announced that the only Local Government with a concensus chairmanship candidate was Obi.

He said the two females contestants were from Doma and Nasarawa Eggon Local government areas of the state.

He praised all those that indicated their interest in aspiring for the the various positions in the Councils, adding that the development showed a high sence of decorum and urged them to continue with such spirit of maturity,
even during and after the election.
