Expectant mother killed, husband kidnapped in kwara

The Police Command has confirmed the killing of a pregnant wife,Hawa Ibrahim and kidnapped her husband, Lukma Ibrahim by suspected gunmen in Offa in kwara state.

The Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO) for the command in the state,SP Okasanmi who confirmed in the incident, assured that the police would arrest the suspects, make them face Justice and rescue Ibrahim.

Sources said that Ibrahim, described as a young entrepreneur dealing in telephone accessories at Owode Market, Offa, was attacked by the suspects on Ojoku-Offa road on Sunday at about 10 p.m while returning home with his wife in his car.

They added that as Lukman was being kidnapped, Hawa shouted for help and was shot in the head, die on the spot while the suspected kidnappers led her husband to unknown destination.

The Reporters further gathered that Lukman’s car was found and taken to the Divisional Police Station, Ojoku road, Offa.

Our Correspondent reports that the neighbouring Niger state has also been having tough time with the activities of kidnappers who arrest innocent persons, demanding ransom running into millions of naira among other among other atrocities by the criminals in that state.

However, the incident seems to have reduced in Niger state, in recent time.
