The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, His Royal Highness,Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, has urged youths to always seek for knowledge, for self actualization and impact in others for the development of the society.
The Emir gave the advice while presenting certificates and gifts to the five lucky winners in the Islamic quiz competition, organized by Sheik Alimi Foundation for Peace and Development in his palace in Ilorin.
The Emir said :” Islam is a religion that values and celebrates knowledgeable people, adding that
“Whoever seek knowledge and help other people to learn will get astonishing rewards from Almighty Allah Almighty in this world and hereafter”
The Mai-Martaba of Ilorin commended the management of the Foundation for for their unflinching love for their community, Islam, humanity and sustaining the legacy of Shiek Alimi.
Presenting the winners to the Emir, the National President of the Foundation, sheikh AbdulKadir Oba-Solagberu,said the overall winner was blessed with full payment to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj while the other four winners were compensated with money.
Addressing journalists on the significant of the event, Dr Musa Husain Arikewushola, who is a National Missioner for the Foundation, said the event showed the importance of knowledge, most especially in Islam and numerous opportunities available for those that possessed good Islamic Knowledge.
He said,“My advice for the winners and other youths is that, they should keep on learning, continue to burn the candle, continue to recite the Quran and the prophetic tradition
“They should as well pursue western education,so that they would be able to compete favourably across the globe”
