The Kogi State Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engr. Abubakar Ohere, has described the suffering faced by motorists plying the Ganaja road and residents of the community in the state as unbearable and highly imagined than said.
Engr. Ohere, who had earlier inspected the road, therefore, appealed to the Federal Government to “please” consider the plight faced by the people and order contractors back to the road to complete their job.
He traced the worrisome nature of the road to the sudden disengagement of the contractors handling the work from the Ganaja Junction to Ganaja Village road.
Ohere, in the strong worded statement of appeal he signed and issued to newsman in Ilorin, passionately begged the Federal Government to come to the aid of the motorists whom he explained were going through “harrowing experience and excruciating pain” due to the difficulty and hardship caused by the road.
While pointing out that the efforts by the federal government to rehabilitate the road was received with joy and optimism, by the state government and people of the state, the Commissioner, however, expressed dismay that motorists had been experiencing incessant break down of vehicles due to the deplorable condition of the road.

The Commissioner, who commended the FG for considering the rehabilitation of the road, expressed dismay that the disengagement of the Contractors from the site had caused untold hardship to motorists and the residents, noting that traveling through the little above seven-kilometre road had become a nightmare to motorists and other road users.
