Prof. God swill Obioma,the Registrar and Chief Executive, the National Examinations Council (NECO), is dead.
However,instances regarding his death remained controversial as at the time of this report.
While one version believes ObiomaThe late Professor Obioma died in his house along London street, Dutsen Kura area of Minna, the Niger state Capital on Monday evening,others said he was assassinated.
One of the sources said that Obiora returned from Abuja for an official assignment at about 9:00a.m and decided to rest before going to office but in the processed,developed health challenge and was rushed to an hospital in Abuja for treatment by one of his brothers.
Neither the Head of Information and Publicity of NECO, Mallam Azeez Sani, nor Police Public Relations Officer for the Niger state Police Command were not responding to calls for confirmation.
The Reporters recalls that the late Registrar appointed on the 15th of May, 2020, through a letter with Reference No: FME/PS/396/C1/1/134 and signed by the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu for an initial tenure of five years with effect from 14th May, 2020.
Meanwhile, the premises NECO has been thrown into mourning and confusion, with tight security while the staff were seen, in pensive mood, discussing the the unfortunate development.
The late Obioma was a professor of Education Measurement and Evaluation. He formally took over the affairs of the Council on Friday, May 22, 2020 from the then Acting Registrar, Mallam Abubakar Gana.
