The Governor of Niger state, Abubarkar Sani Bello, has felicitated with Muslim faithful in Nigeria and Niger state in particular on Eid-el-Fitri celebration with a call on them
to draw from the enduring lessons of Ramadan.
This, he said, they could do allowing the spiritual benefits of the religious obligation permeate their life and positively influence their attitude toward a better Nigeria.
The Governor, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary Mary Noel Berje on Wednesday in Minna,said 2021 Eid-el-fitr called for sober reflection and fervent prayer, in view of prevailing security challenges in state and the country at large.
He said,“I call on all Muslim faithful to apply the lessons of self-control, discipline, sacrifice and perseverance, derived from fasting in the month of Ramadan, and stay off evil in the overall interest of the state and country.”
The Governor expressed hope that the enthusiasm to gain righteousness and eternal bliss during the sacred month would be sustained, all year round, in order to derive maximum benefits and reward from Almighty Allah.
Bello assured the people that the government would find enduring solutions to the insecurity affecting the state and the country as a whole.
Government, he added, was aware of the challenges arising from the growing insecurity in some parts of the state and was relentlessly working in conjunction with all security agencies to reverse the trend and ensure that all displaced persons were returned to their communities.
The Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of the people and assured them of continued support and assistance toward Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), until they return to their communities and sources of livelihood.
Muslims, he further urged, should remain steadfast in applying the virtues of the Ramadan through sustained supplications, hospitality and good neighborliness for peace, security and economic prosperity of not only Niger state but also Nigeria as a whole.
