Attah Igala stool: Youth council urges fairness

COMMUNIQUE OF THE IYC EMERGENCY MEETING HELD ON SUNDAY THE 25 DAY OF APRIL, 2021

1.0 INTRODUCTION

1.1 An Emergency Meeting of the Igala Youth Council (IYC) NEC was called by the National President of the body Comrade Collins Onogu and held on the 25th day of April, 2021.

1.3 The major aim of the meeting was the vacant seat of the Attah Igala of Igala Kingdom and preparations for the forth coming Igala Youth Day Celebration coming up later in the year.

2.0. RESOLUTIONS
At the end of the extensive deliberations, the IYC NEC, among other things, resolved as follows:

2.1 (i) The IYC urged those saddled with the responsibility of selection of the next Attah to speed up process. In this regard, the IYC asked for fairness and absolute adherence to all procedures as gazetted.
(ii) Council also urged the committee responsible for the petition against the kingmakers to ensure equity and fairness in thier handling of the matter and make sure that they have substantial evidences to support the claims of the petitioners which must as a matter of urgency made their findings public.

IYC has also resolved that, in the absence of any evidences against the recommendation of the Etemahi and members of the kingmakers, their recommendations should as a matter of urgency be send to appropriate quarters for the needful.

IYC pray that anybody that try to jeopardize the process for political and selfish gained must be visited with the wrought of our ancestors.

2.2 (i) That the IYC will embark on the process of remodelling, reconstruction and beautification of the Palace of the Attah Igala to a world class status such every Igala Sons and Daughters will be proud of.
(ii) In view of the above, the IYC is ready to collaborate with other socio cultural association of the Igala Kingdom to mobilize funding for the project by creating a platform where all well meaning citizens of the kingdom will contribute to the success of the project.

iii) Furtherance to achieving this great feat, the Council stated that a committee be set up by the National President to analyze and give recommendation(s).

3.1 Various committees were set up to ensure a well organized Igala Youth Celebration scheduled for August, 2021
Committees has all NEC members/Local Chapters Coordinators as automatic members of the committee.
