STAND FOR JUSTICE AS EVIDENCE OF TAQWAH

Prof Taofiq AbdulAzeez

As we continue our connection with the Qur’an in this Glorious Month of Ramadhan which is also the month of the Qur’an, I urge the Muslims all over the world to use the Taqwah acquired from the fasting to STAND FOR JUSTICE onbehalf of the people(Q5:8)

Our sense of Justice is a direct evidence of our faith and Taqwah which the fasting in Ramadhan is meant to teach us(Q5:44, 45, 47)

I urge Government and the people to initiate actions that will lead to DEREGULATION of DEMOCRACY. This will enable all Nigerians to benefit from the integrity of the faithful politicians from the Churches, Mosques and Traditional Institutions. When these three present “credible” candidates for the endorsement of the people in elections, it is hoped that monitoring of their activities and sensorring of their mischief would be time and cost effective.

Thieves and other criminals would also be properly identified and appropriately domiciled for sanction and the people would be truly free to take responsibility for the choice they make of those to rule them.

I ask Allaah to bless and reward the fasting Muslims all over the world.

Taofiq AbdulAzeez Imam is the University of Abuja.
