Operation Puff Adder 2 arrests 3 suspected armed robbers in kogi

The Operatives of Operation Puff Adder II, attached to Iyara Division of the Nigeria Police in Kogi state have arrested three suspected armed robbers in the state.

DSP William Ovye Aya, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Police Command in Lokoja, made the disclosure in a statement on Wednesday, a copy of which was made available to The Reporters,an online news platform in Lokoja.

He said the command received a report on 13/4/2021 that at about 2200hrs, three armed men invaded a POS shop at Ogidi, attacked the operator, inflicted injury on him and forcefully collected unspecified amount of money from him.

Aya added that following the development, the Commissioner of Police for the state,Mr Ede Ayuba Ekpeji, directed all the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, operational and tactical Commanders as well as intelligence Officers to secure public places and guaranteed a safe and secure environment for all.

Consequently, he said, the Operatives of Operation Puff Adder II promptly swung into action through an intelligence led operation trailed the suspects to their hideout and arrested them and recovered from them one single barrel gun, phones among others.

“The suspects will be arraigned in court on completion of the investigation.

“The Commissioner of Police reassures members of the public of the Command’s level of commitment in synergy with other security agencies in the State to ensure adequate protection of lives and properties,” Aya said.

He qouted his boy as calling on members of the public to sharpen their power of observation and volunteer credible and timely information on the activities of criminal elements in the State.
