The General Manager, Niger State Broadcasting Corporation (Radio Niger), Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Ibrahim, has assured Igbo Community of the station’s preparedness to partner with them in the promotion Igbo interests.
Kabir, who gave the assurance when he received the Igbo Community Association (ICA), led by their President, Dr. Valentine Oparaocha, however added that such partnership include tradition, culture and businesses of the Igbos in the state not without condition.
The General Manager said the Radio station, including ‘Search FM’ and indeed the entire Niger state was not unaware of contributions the Igbo people living and doing businesses in many parts of the stat in adding value to the socio-economic development of the state.
Such contributions, according to the General Manager could not be underestimated, noting that Igbo population across the 25 Local Government Areas of the state contributed not less than 40 per cent to Niger state economy.
The General Manager described the Igbos as a force to reckon with, adding thatthey had the dexterity to survive against the odds.
Kabir,who noted that the Igbos had the tendency to travel far and wide across the globe, assured the Igbo Community in Niger state that his doors were open for their attention.
He expressed appreciation to the ICA for finding time and declaring willingness to partner with the Radio in areas of interests.
The General Manager, however, urged the Igbo residents in the state to take advantage of numerous business programmes promoting socio-cultural interests to further cement the bond of friendship between the Igbos and their host, Niger state.
Earlier,Oparaocha had told the General Manageer and his management team that they were at the station to explore opportunities to improve on the existing relationship between the two.
Oparaocha, who led other executive members of the ICA, on the visit solicited the support of the management of Radio in the areas of; promotion of Igbo tradition, culture and as well their business concerns.
