Scarcity: Relief as taps in Lokoja run water again

Residents of Lokoja, capital of the confluence Kogi state on Sunday, sighed a big relief as taps which went dry for about a week, resumed running of water to the public.

A correspondent of The Reporters in Lokoja reports that the sign of relief became obvious as some taps in areas such as Gadumo, 200 and 500 housing estates, commissioners’ quarters along Ganaja road, experienced water supply from their taps in Sunday night.

In their various interviews with our correspondent, the people described the return of potable water to most homes in the state capital as a big welcome development to their private and commercial activities.

The people, however, urged the state water board to guard against future occurrence of scarcity of such a precious commodity.

Water plays very crucial role in the life of human being in many aspects of life, as it is often said that “no water,no life.”

There is also some relief to the poor network, especially as it relates to banking transactions as bank customers interviewed confirmed The Reporters’investigation.
