A frontline industrialist and politician of note,Mr Godwin Ezeemo
(Achinagbaraoha), has expressed shock and disbelief over the death of a former Director-General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Mr Ben Egbuna (71).
Ezeemo expressed the feeling in statement he signed, a copy of which was made to The Reporters, an online publication in Lokoja on Monday.
He said: “It is with heavy heart that I receive the news of the death Mr. Ben Egbunna,a former Executive Director, News, VON and fmr DG, FRCN.
“I am shocked, sad and extremely pained at the passing of this true Veteran in the Nigerian media industry who was one of the shining lights of VON, FRCN during his time as Director News and a great achiever.
“I remember, with fondness, my time with him during my last Political outing and his consciousness to give his best at every point.

“Indeed, I am blessed by the opportunity to have known and associated with him.
“Mr. Ben Egbunna left remarkable legacies with his work in the media industry in Nigeria, as an example to many striving to make greater impact in the Media industry.
“I condole with his Wife, Mrs Betty Egbuna and children, the Egbuna family, members of the Nigeria Media practioners, VON, FRCN as well as the entire People of Avomimi Village in Enugwu Ukwu, Anambra State.
“May his soul rest in peace. Amen.”
The Reporters correspondent recalls that Egbuna, described by some journalists as teacher of teachers of journalism at the then FRCN training school, Lagos and now National Broadcasting Academy, died on January 28, during a brief illness.
Egbuna’s death, a doyen of media industry, has thrown the media industry in Nigeria into mournful mood, especially at the Radio Nigeria and even private media outfits.
