Occupants of a storey building located at the popular zone 8 junction in Lokoja, kogi state, on Saturday cheated death as a coal loaded articulated vehicle rammed into their building without a drop of blood.
However, a personnel of the Presidential Task Force, standing along the road, is said to have sustained minor injury and receiving treatment in a nearby hospital.
A correspondent of the Reporters who visited the scene of the accident gathered that the auto crash happened about about 6p.m on Saturday.
The frontain of the house was littered with coal as the time of this report.
Some residents of the building and their friends and relations were seen praying and praising God for His mercy and protection during the accident.
The driver of the vehicle, Abdullahi Ibrahim, told our correspondent that the accident occurred he experienced break failure in the effort to negotiate at the junction.
Our recalls that another residents, on Felele High way also in Lokoja, were not so lucky as more than 20 of the lost their lives in another articulated vehicle accident about three months ago.
Some of the members of the public,who spoke with The Reporters’ correspondent called on owners of articulated vehicle to always that such vehicles were in proper mechanical fitness by putting on the road.
They described articulated vehicle related accident in Lokoja and its environs as a worrisome development that needed the urgent attention of the state government in checking the movement of this kind of vehicle, among other measures.
