The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has felicitated with Christians in the state and world over on the Christmas celebration with a call on them to show love and kindness to one another.
Bello, in his Christmas message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed in Lokoja on Wednesday.
The governor particularly stressed the need for them to share whatever they had with their neighbours, especially the less privileged and the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) who might not have anything to celebrate with on this special occasion.
He also called on the Christians to pray to God to put an end to all the security and economic challenges bedeviling the country.
“These are undeniably hard and challenging times for our nation, and I do hope we all reflect on these and pray for those who are suffering.
“But nothwithstanding the difficulties and challenges we might have been through over the last months, we do have many reasons to celebrate.
“A celebration that we are thankful to be alive after what we have experienced as a people; a celebration that we have stayed strong and resilient, despite what we have faced as a state and a nation.
“As a government, we will continue to do our best to improve on the welfare and wellbeing of Kogites, through people-oriented programmes and projects as we move into the New Year.
“I wish you Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year ahead,”he said.
