The Kogi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) says all is now set for the 2020 Press week.
The Chairman of the council, Comrade Adeiza Momohjimoh and the Secretary, Alhaji Ademu Seidu said this in a statement they signed jointly a copy of which is in possession of the The Reporters,an online publication in Lokoja on Thursday.
According to them,the programme will kick-off with a Friday Mosque Service at Ministry of Education Jummat Mosque in Lokojs on Friday, October 30, 2020.
The duo added that the programme would continue on Sunday with a Sunday Service at Revival House Church along Phase II Road, Lokoja at 9:00a.m on November 1, 2020.
The two NUJ bosses further said that there would be a road walk on November 2, 2020 at 8:00a.m starting from the NUJ Press Centre in Lokoja.
Other activities lined up for the Press Week, they added,include Novelty football match, visitation to orphanages, free medical outreach and grand finale.
Mimohjimoh and Seidu said a grand finale would hold on November 5, 2020, under the Chairmanship of the Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority Lokoja, Dr. George Moghahu.
“The grand finale will feature a lecture titled Inland Water Transportation: “The Untapped Potentials in Nigeria Economy” to be delivered by Dr. Anthony Ali of the Department of History and International Studies, Federal University Lokoja (FUL).
“The Kogi State Speaker Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole will bag the Union Award of “Champion of Legislative Harmony” while a philanthropist and Communication Expert Dr. Victor Adoji will bag the Union Award of “Icon of Humanitarian Services,”they said.
