The Kwara State Government has reached a truce with the state Labour Unions over the four days old strike

The Reporters gathered that the Labour Leaders had meeting with the State Head of Service(HOS) Mrs Susan Modupe Oluwole, during which they agreed to suspend the the four days old strike in the interim. .

The State NLC Chairman, Comrade Aliyu Issa Ore, told Journalists at the end of the meeting that the unions resolved to suspend the action, to pave way toward the signing the agreement on the new minimum wage.

The Reporters recalls that the strike was called as a result of the inability of the state government and the organised labour to reach a compromise on the implementation of the N30,000 new Minimum Wage.

The HOS, in her comment, commended the labour leaders for their understanding and cooperation during the talk.

She reiterated the commitment and determination of the state government to pay the new minimum wage.

Oluwole assured that the state government would reach an acceptable agreement with the Labour soon.
