Gunmen kill cleric,2 others in kogi

Some suspected gunmen in the early hours of Thursday, invaded Okofi community in Kogi Local Governmemt Area of Kogi State, killing three persons, including t Chief Immam of the community and injured two others.

The Reporters,an online gathered, that the attackers invaded the community when Muslim faithful were observing their early morning prayers in the community’s mosque.

The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO for the Police Command in the state, DSP Williams Aya, confirmed the incident, adding that the two injured had been taken to hospital for treatment.

“The Commissioner of Police, Mr Edeh Ayuba has directed the Divisional Police Officer to move to the area where the sad incident occurred, to avert further break down of law and order,” he saud.

Aya also said that Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of investigation had been ordered to move to the scene to investigate the attack with E view to identifying the perpetrators.
