The Kwara State Government has directed all Officers on grade level 12 and above to report for work at their respective duty posts immediately, as the Indefinite strike by the organised labour entered three days on Wednesday.
A circular signed by the State Head of Service, Mrs Susan Modupe Oluwole also ordered all Staff on essential services to comply with the directive.
The order followed the on-going strike action embarked upon by the State Labour Unions over the implementation of the new minimum wage and consequential adjustment.
The strike action was in contravention of the court injunction given by the Akure Zone of the Industrial Court retraining the state Joint Labour Congress from embarking on strike.
“Consequently, all Officers on grade level 12 and above, as well as those who render essential services are hereby strongly advised to report for work and be at their duty posts to perform their official duties “, Mrs Oluwole said.
She added that all workers must be guided by the Covid 19 protocol as stipulated by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The HOS reiterated that negotiations regarding the implementation of the new minimum wage and consequential adjustments was still on-going between the State Government and the Organized Labour with a view to resolving all grey areas.
She,therefore, directed Permanent Secretaries, all Heads of Departments and Agencies to remind their staff of the provisions of the Public Service Rule and ensure complian.
