A two-term Senator, who represented Kogi West Senatorial district of kogi state, Tunde Ogbeha, has presented relief materials worth millions of naira to victims of flood in Kotonkarfe in Kogi Local Governmemt Area of kogi state.
A correspondent of the Reporters, an online publication, reports that the Senator’s relief came as flood continues to displace many families, living along the bank of River Niger,in about nine of the local government areas of the state.
Represented by his wife, Esther at Kotonkarfe, the venue of the distrbution of the material, Ogbeha expressed sympathy to the victims.
Ogbeha,who expressed optimism that his gesture would cushion the effect of the disaster on the affected persons, called on the Federal and the state government to come to their aid.
The Reporters, reports that residents of high level lands in Lokoja have continued to receive friends, acquaintances and relations who flood has displaced.
Some victims were seen co habiting some classrooms at the Ajaokuta Local Education Area Primary School located at Gadumo close to Lokoja.
Some of the victims at the primary school also appealed to the state government to send relief materials to them, to ease the trauma they were going through as a result of the flood.
They also called on the current lawmakers representing the district at the state and federal legislature to come to their rescue ” in this trying moment.”
