APC women wing partners NDE to train 50 women on spices making

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger state, Women wing, has partnered with the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) to train 50 women in the state, on how to produce various spices to boost immune system against symptoms of Corona Virus (COVID-19) for their economic self reliance.

APC Woman leader in the state, Hajiya Fatima Mustapha, disclosed this at the commencement of the training programme in Minna, adding that the training was also aimed at encouraging the women on how to take care of themselves and their immediate families against corona virus.

“This training on how to make spices will surely keep them busy and as well benefit them economically instead of sitting at home idling away time,”she said.

Mustapha lauded the Governor Abubarkar Sani Bello-led administration for carrying women along in governance by recognizing their importance as partners in progress.

Also speaking at the event,on the State Coordinator of NDE, Alhaji Abdulmalik Liman Abubakar, commended the APC woman leader for the initiative which according to him, adding that the partnership would stand the test of time.

Abdulmalik,who said the training would last for five days said the exercise would go a long way empowering more women and boost their socio-economic wellbeing as they could engage in spice production for commercial purpose.

While advising the beneficiaries to take the training with all seriousness it deserved, the NDE state coordinator said the agency had to source for an internationally recognized trainer for the training to ensure that the beneficiaries get the best.

Also speaking, the trainer, Talatu Florence Abara, said, ‘it is all about quality production of spices that can boost immune system against the COVID-19 pandemic by using locally sourced natural remedies from the state’.

Some of the natural products used for the different spices after through washing and cleaning she further explained, include; Ginger, Turmeric, Garlic cloves, Tiger nut, Dates and Baobaba.

According to her, the beneficiaries will be expected to be trained on how to produce the spices in their respective homes.
